Lessons from COVID for Small Businesses

June 8, 2021

As most of you probably know, I am a mom as well as a business owner, which means my schedule is constantly changing. Things this summer are looking a lot closer to normal for my kids. The pandemic wasn’t all bad because there are new family habits and traditions we have adopted, and it gave us the opportunity to see what habits, patterns, traditions in our family were no longer serving us.

The same is true for my business. I am lucky that I came through the pandemic with only a few bumps and bruises. I’m taking what I’ve learned about myself, my business, my clients and my community to begin removing what is not working and to continue to integrate the changes I have made in the last year. I am always looking for more ways to adapt and meet the needs of my clients.

Looking around at the businesses I see that have grown and thrived despite what the last year has thrown their way, most of them have pivoted in ways that can lead to continued success as we leave the insanity of COVID behind us. They have used social media to connect and advertise, they have expanded online offerings and services, and, probably most importantly, they have taken care of themselves and their teams.

How has your business changed in the last year? What worked? What didn’t? Leave a comment on my Facebook page or Instagram post. Let’s come together, help each other continue to grow and thrive!
