Wisconsin Tomorrow Small Business Recovery Grant Program

May 28, 2021

Good news for Wisconsin small business owners, including sole proprietors and independent contractors. The application window for the Wisconsin Tomorrow Small Business Recovery Grant Program is open. $420 million total is available, to be distributed in $5000 grants to eligible small businesses. Wondering if that is you? Here are some of the criteria:

  • You must have been in operation on or before December 31, 2020, and you must still be operating in 2021.
  • You must have suffered economic loss as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • You must have more than $10,000 but less than $7 million in annual revenue.
  • You must have at least 75% of your property located in Wisconsin, and at least 75% of your services must be performed in Wisconsin.

If you are planning to apply, you will need your 2019 tax return and your North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code. You cannot pause and save your application, so be sure to have that handy before you start. It should take about 15 minutes to complete the application.

To quickly answer a couple of frequently asked questions, you can apply even if you received a We’re All in Grant, and you have until June 7th to apply. If you have more questions, the Wisconsin Department of Revenue has an entire webpage devoted to them. You can find the application here.

The DOR does say that you can have someone else complete the application on your behalf, so feel free to reach out if you need assistance! I am hoping none of you need this, but glad it is available for those who do.
